I’m Daisy. My life has been a combination of recognizing the soul of all living things and caring for animals for as long as I can remember.

When I was growing up, all my focus went into caring for my pets. Caring for dogs, cats, chickens, goats and equines kept me active, and my mama did a great job of caring for me so that I maintained good nutrition. When I ventured out on my own, I no longer had either of these resources and became lost, unsure of myself and facing the lowest moods of my life at the same time as chronic pain in my legs due to deficiencies and lack of exercise. Without my mother’s guidance, I unleashed my cravings and said no to self-discipline and impulse control. This led to a chaotic lifestyle and poor physical and mental wellness. I had tried yoga before but easily lost interest in activities that I didn’t feel that I excelled at.

When I revisited the idea of practicing yoga when I had my dog, I approached it from a new perspective - How can Waffles and I find joy in healthy movement? From there, my creativity was unleashed; with each asana, a new opportunity for engagement was revealed. As I explored deeper into the philosophy, I felt so much excitement realizing how each limb related to my relationship with my dog and how the practice of yoga as a whole could reduce anxiety in both of us, which would improve my nutritional habits, my dog’s behavior, and the social interactions that we both have.

I am excited to share what I‘ve learned with other pet owners and yoga enthusiasts.
